Salvatorian Fathers & Brothers
June 16, 2012 Mother of the Savior Formation House - New Manila.
Gathering together for a family celebration is an occasion to experience and manifest how we grow together with a sense of belongingness. The August gathering on the June 16, 2012 at the Mother of the Savior Community in New Manila was no exception this feeling for the Salvatorian family. The day was marked with many occasions to celebrate...
New in Old Loyola Community
Another year of English language instruction got under way on June 4, as the program welcomed seventeen young men at the new location, the former novitiate in Loyola. Coming from Viet Nam, Malaysia, Indonesia, East Timor, and the Philippines, the aspirants fit themselves in place, without much room to spare. That was possible because this year's novices began their year on the May 1, at a rented house in Marikina. Fr. Artur, with Fr. Gregory assisting, is the director of the language program and has a staff of five teachers who come for five hours a day, five days a week to teach the students at their various skill levels. At the end of the first week a comprehensive examination was given and the results showed that three men were sufficiently skilled in English so that they could by-pass the year of language study and go directly to Amadeo to begin their four year study of philosophy. And thus the space problem was passed from Fr. Artur to Fr. Adam in Amadeo.
Recognition day: May 11th 2012
It was indeed a day of joy and celebration particularly for the teaching staff and the students of the SDS English language school, as the day meant for the official conclusion of the academic year recognising the required and acquired skills in English making them to proceed for the next stage of formation. In the colourful function 15 students of the vicariate were granted the certificate of recognition. The report of the academic year was presented, recalling all the curricular and co curricular activities.
"He will touch you in the most unexpected way"
summer class is one of our awaited activities during summer simply because of its immense inspiration it always brings to our life.
This year we started in May 2, 2012 and ended in May 11, 2012. Every day we traveled from Loyola Heights to Parola. And the children and youth awaited us there. Every day we were teaching in the small place where all of them were gathered together. However some of the brothers needed to move from house to house to teach the children who are not capable of coming to the multi-purpose building where we were teaching.
