May 1, 2011 was an important day for the East Asian Vicariate. While the universal church celebrated the beatification of the late pope John Paul II we celebrated the profession of vows in our Mother-of-the-Savior-House in New Manila. Six brothers completed their novitiate and professed their religious vows for the first time.That is the biggest group we ever had until now in our short history of 15 years of presence in the Philippines. In the same celebration two other brothers renewed their religious vows. We have now a group of eight temporary professed members. It means our community in New Manila is growing. Little by little our new house there serves its purpose which is to be a formation house for the theology students of the East Asian Vicariate. Fr.Christopher Kolwalczyk, the vicariate superior, presided the celebration and accepted the new members in the name of the Society of the Divine Savior. Just the night before four new brothers were accepted into novitiate and Fr. Artur Chrzanowski was assigned again as novice master. So we have good hope to have another profession celebration next year.
