Salvatorian Fathers & Brothers
Vocation Festival, 2013
“Vocation is a gift”. It entails generosity from the one being called. We are called to holiness. We are called to the aid of one another. However, the generation of this age is encountering the peril of making this call to be obsolete. Technology gradually is overwhelming the mind of the youth. We need to speak as a Church to remind the world that holiness, service, and calling are more than words they are expecting.

March 23rd 2013 saw the mirthful, fun packed stage adaptation of Mel Brook’s movie ‘Robin Hood: Men in Tights’ presented by the Divine Savior- English Language Development Program. The play went on for two hours gaining applause and belly-aching laughter throughout the program. The house was filled to overflowing on the ground floor and the second floor had to be turned into a gallery to accommodate the people.

“Fly like an Eagle around the world and proclaim the word of God.” (SD 1/182) Taken from the Spiritual Diary of Fr. Jordan, these words consoles every saddened heart since Fr. Chris had left us for a greater purpose. Now, at his departure last 15th of January, “Da Manila a Roma” (from Manila to Rome) he brought with him the beautiful memories of his service as Vicariate Superior for three years here in our Unit. Nonetheless, with him are not just memories of us but also our prayers. Apparently now that he is closer to our Founder, to St. Peter and all the Saints in Rome he can sensibly offer our prayers to them.
With all our gratitude and prayers to Fr. Chris. May he continue to serve joyfully the Lord in his new assignment as 1st Consultor of the New Generalate in Rome. Salamat po at mabuhay ka Fr. Chris.

Merry Christmas
For each one of us, the gift of Advent has been time when we try to prepare ourselves for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have been preparing our hearts by putting aside anything that may be an obstacle to welcome Him in the Mystery of the Nativity. With longing, we pray: "Come, Lord Jesus!"
May the Lord, who is about to come find us ready to welcome Him with joy of heart, humbly offering him the gift of ourselves as we strive to be good Salvatorians.
As Christmas draws near, I would like to wish you to experience a deep and a real presence of the Child Jesus among us. May He be the source of love for each one of us that will make us feel united as a true family of brothers.
A blessed Christmas and Happy New Year to all of You!
Fr. Adam Janus, SDS Vicariate Superior
